Third Person's Pov:
The sun was just starting to rise when a girl opened her eyes. She was always the first one up at the Orphanage.
At 25, she was older than most of the kids there. She had been living at the orphanage for two years now, and it had become her home.
She sat up in her small bed, looking around the room. The other girls were still sleeping. She could hear their soft breathing.
Quietly, she got out of bed and walked to the window. Outside, the street was quiet. Only a few people were up, hurrying to work.
She was Viaanshi.
As she stood there, Viaanshi thought about what had happened last week.
They had all been so scared when they heard the orphanage might close. Someone wanted to build a big factory where their home was.
But yesterday, they got good news. The plans had changed, and they could stay. Viaanshi was happy, but she couldn't help wondering why things had changed so fast.
Just then, she heard a soft knock at the door. It was Asha, the kind lady who took care of all the kids at the orphanage. Asha was like a mother to many of them, including Viaanshi.
"Good morning, Viaanshi," Asha said quietly, smiling at her.
"You're up early as always."
Viaanshi smiled back, but her eyes looked worried.
"Good morning, Asha aunty. I couldn't sleep much."
Asha looked at her with concern.
"You're still thinking about what happened, aren't you?"
Viaanshi nodded.
"I can't help it. I keep wondering why they changed their minds. It seems too good to be true."
Asha put her hand on Viaanshi's shoulder to comfort her.
"Sometimes good things just happen, dear. We should be happy about it."
"I know," Viaanshi said.
"But we can't always count on luck. We need to be ready for whatever comes next."
Asha nodded, understanding what Viaanshi meant.
"You're right. But for now, let's be thankful. Come on, let's make breakfast for the little ones."
As they walked to the kitchen, Viaanshi was already thinking about what to do next. She knew she needed to find a job. She wanted to help take care of the orphanage and the children.
When she thought about the younger kids and their hopes for the future, it made her want to work even harder.
The morning was busy. Viaanshi helped make and serve breakfast, got the younger children ready for the day, and cleaned up around the orphanage.
Around 5'o clock While Viaanshi was helping some of the children with their school work, Asha came to find her.
"Viaanshi, there's someone here to see you," she said.
Curious, Viaanshi followed Asha to the small office at the front of the orphanage. Standing there was Abeer Malhotra.
He looked out of place in his expensive suit. Viaanshi had met him a few times before. She knew he was the stepson of the man who owned the orphanage.
"Hello, Viaanshi," Abeer said, smiling at her. His voice was smooth and confident.
"I hope I'm not interrupting anything important."
Viaanshi shook her head. She suddenly felt very aware of her simple clothes.
"No, it's fine. Is everything okay?"
Abeer's smile got bigger, but it didn't seem to reach his eyes.
"Everything's great. I just wanted to come by and see how everyone was doing after the good news."
Viaanshi frowned a little. There was something about Abeer that always made her feel off.
She wasn't sure why.
"That's very kind of you. We're all very happy, of course."
Abeer kept looking at her and asked.
"I was wondering if you'd like to have lunch with me. I want to talk about some ideas for the orphanage's future."
Viaanshi wasn't sure what to say. She looked at Asha, who nodded encouragingly.
"I... I guess that would be okay. Let me change into something better first."
Viaanshi went to change her clothes, but she couldn't stop thinking.
Why was Abeer really here?
She felt like there was more to his visit than he was saying.
But she also knew this might be a chance to get more help for the orphanage.
When she came back, Abeer was waiting by his fancy car. He opened the door for her, and Viaanshi got in. She felt out of place in such an expensive car.
As they drove, Abeer tried to make small talk.
"So, Viaanshi, how long have you been at Orphanage now?"
"Two years," Viaanshi said quietly.
"It's become my home."
Abeer nodded, keeping his eyes on the road.
"And before that? If you don't mind me asking."
Viaanshi felt tense. She didn't like thinking about her past.
"I'd rather not talk about that, if that's okay."
Abeer glanced at her. Something flashed across his face, but Viaanshi couldn't tell what it was.
"Of course, I'm sorry if I upset you."
They didn't talk for the rest of the drive. Viaanshi wished she had said no to lunch. But it was too late now.
They stopped at a small, nice-looking cafรฉ. It wasn't the kind of place Viaanshi thought someone like Abeer would go to.
After they sat down, Viaanshi decided to take charge of the conversation.
"You said you wanted to talk about ideas for the orphanage?"
Abeer leaned back in his chair.
"Yes, I did. But first, I wanted to ask what do you think about what happened this past week?"
Viaanshi thought carefully before answering.
"It was a hard time for all of us. We were so scared the children would lose their home. We're all very thankful that the plans changed."
Abeer smiled a little.
"What if I told you that I helped change those plans?"
Viaanshi's eyes got big
"You did? How?"
"I know some important people in business," Abeer said, sounding proud.
"When I heard what was happening, I made some phone calls and talked to some people. It wasn't easy, but I couldn't let all those children lose their home."
Viaanshi felt grateful, but also a little uneasy.
"That's... very kind of you, Abeer. I don't know how to thank you."
Abeer reached across the table and took Viaanshi's hand. She wanted to pull away, but she didn't want to seem ungrateful.
"Your thanks is enough, Viaanshi. Seeing you happy makes me happy too."
When their food came, Viaanshi gently took her hand back and started eating. She still felt like there was more to Abeer's actions than just being kind.
"So," Abeer said as they ate,
"tell me about your dreams, Viaanshi. What do you want for your future?"
Viaanshi stopped eating for a moment to think.
"I want to make sure the children at Hope have every chance to do well in life. I've been thinking about ways to help them get better education, maybe even learn some job skills."
Abeer nodded, looking thoughtful.
"Those are good goals. But what about your own dreams? Surely you want something for yourself too?"
Viaanshi shifted in her seat, feeling uncomfortable.
"My dreams are for the children. They're what matter most to me."
Abeer leaned forward, his eyes intense.
"But Viaanshi, you're young. You have your whole life ahead of you. Don't you want more for yourself?"
Viaanshi felt trapped. She didn't like where this conversation was going.
"I'm happy with my life at the orphanage. It gives me purpose."
Abeer sat back, a small smile on his face.
"You're a remarkable woman, Viaanshi. So selfless. But I think you deserve more. Maybe I could help with that."
Viaanshi's heart started beating faster. She didn't like the way Abeer was looking at her.
"That's very kind of you, but I'm fine, really."
Just then, Viaanshi's phone rang. She had never been so happy to hear it.
"Excuse me, I need to take this," she said, quickly standing up and walking away from the table.
It was Asha calling.
"Viaanshi, dear, I'm sorry to bother you, but we need you back at the orphanage. One of the little ones is sick and keeps asking for you."
"I'll be right there," Viaanshi said, relief in her voice. She went back to the table where Abeer was waiting.
"I'm sorry, but there's an emergency at the orphanage. I need to go back."
Abeer looked disappointed, but he nodded.
"Of course, I understand. Let me drive you back."
The ride back to the orphanage was quiet. Viaanshi could feel Abeer looking at her, but she kept her eyes on the road. When they arrived, she thanked him quickly and got out of the car.
"Viaanshi," Abeer called as she was about to go inside. She turned to look at him.
"Maybe we could have dinner sometime?"
Viaanshi felt uncomfortable, but she didn't want to be rude.
"Maybe. I'll have to see. Thank you for lunch, and for everything you've done for the orphanage."
Before Abeer could say anything else making him clench his fist in anger.
"Soon viaanshi soon"
He whispered and left.
Meanwhile Viaanshi hurried inside. She found Asha waiting for her.
"Is everything okay? Who's sick?"
Asha looked confused.
"Sick? No one's sick, dear. I just thought you might need an excuse to come back. You looked uncomfortable when you left."
Viaanshi felt a rush of gratitude for Asha.
"Thank you, Asha aunty. I don't know but I feel like there's something about Abeer that doesn't feel right to me."
"I understand now go and rest" She said making viaanshi nod and she went to her room.
