Third Person's POV:
The big hall of the Raichand house was very quiet, filled with sadness.
The Raichand family sat together on the soft carpet, wearing white clothes to honor the person they lost.
A big picture of Sushma, Viaanshi's grandmother, was in front of them on the day of her funeral.
Anamika looked very sad, her eyes red from crying. Sushma's sudden death had hurt her deeply.
Even though Sushma often used Anamika, they had a strong bond. Anamika always did what Sushma told her to do.
Even ten years after Viaanshi was born, Anamika still didn't like her own daughter. In fact, she hated her more now.
Shreyansh's family, the Oberois, had moved to the UK for a while for their children's school.
Yesterday night Sushma died, today when she didn't wake up at her usual time.
This was strange.
When family members went to check on her, they found her dead on the floor.
While others rushed to her, Yuvansh went to look at the security camera videos.
The videos showed Sushma having trouble breathing, trying to reach the door, and then falling down.
Anamika's face was a mask of anguish, her eyes red and swollen. She whispered, her voice barely audible,
"I can't believe she's gone..."
Vivaan reached out to comfort her, but Anamika flinched away.
"Don't," she said, her voice trembling.
"I... I need to be alone."
One Week Later:
After Sushma died, Anamika became very quiet and distant. She didn't talk to anyone, not even Vivaan. She didn't eat well and looked very tired.
Currently in the living room, everyone was looking at Anamika.
Viaanshi was hiding behind Vivaan's legs, looking at a new girl next to her mother.
Vivaan's voice broke the silence, shock evident in his tone.
"Anamika, what's going on? Who is this child?"
Anamika lifted her chin defiantly.
"This is Tanya. I've adopted her from an orphanage."
"What?" Vivaan exclaimed, his face a mix of confusion and hurt.
"Why didn't you tell me? Don't I matter in your life anymore?"
Anamika's eyes flashed with anger.
"Matter? Where were you when I was drowning in loneliness after Mom's death? You were all too busy with your precious Viaanshi!"
Viaanshi whimpered at the raised voices, tears welling up in her eyes. Vivaan noticed and softened his tone.
"Anamika, please. You're scaring Viaanshi."
But Anamika was too caught up in her emotions.
"If you won't accept Tanya, just say it. We'll leave right now!"
Vivaan sighed heavily.
"I never said I wouldn't accept her. I'm just hurt you didn't discuss this with me."
He paused, then added softly,
"We always talked about adopting, remember?"
As he picked up a sobbing Viaanshi, he turned back to Anamika.
"Tanya isn't at fault here. I'll love her as my own because no child should suffer for adults' mistakes."
Two Years Later:
Two years passed, and things were hard for Viaanshi.
Tanya bullied her at school, but Viaanshi didn't tell anyone because she loved her mother.
Tanya was jealous of Viaanshi because Viaanshi was better at school and more popular. Tanya often blamed Viaanshi for things she didn't do.
Vivaan, Yuvansh and Aradhana always supported Viaanshi.
Currently Viaanshi returned from school, her face etched with worry.
She hurried towards the house, muttering to herself,
"I have to tell Dada about Tanya. This can't go on..."
Suddenly, a sharp crack echoed in the air. Viaanshi stumbled back, her cheek stinging.
She looked up in shock to see Anamika, her hand raised, eyes blazing with fury.
She slapped Viaanshi again on the other cheek.
Viaanshi started crying, feeling confused and hurt.
